Acronym and Signifier

Acronym noun - A word formed from the initial letters of the several words in the name.

Signifier and acronym are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Signifier" instead a noun "Acronym".

Signifier noun - The phonological or orthographic sound or appearance of a word that can be used to describe or identify something.

Acronym and signifier are semantically related. Sometimes you can replace term "Acronym" with "Signifier", this nouns are similar.
