Affectedness noun - The quality or state of appearing or trying to appear more important or more valuable than is the case.

Cant and affectedness are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Cant" instead a noun "Affectedness".

Usage example: many accused the evangelist of cant, since his lavish lifestyle seemed to bear little resemblance to what he was preaching
