Along adverb - Toward or at a point lying in advance in space or time.
Near
Near adverb - At, within, or to a short distance or time.
Usage example: as summer draws near, we usually start planning our annual vacation
Along and near are semantically related. You can use "Along" instead the word "Near" as a preposition or an adverb.
