Arcane adjective - Difficult for one of ordinary knowledge or intelligence to understand.
Usage example: grammatical rules that seem arcane to generations of students who were never taught grammar in the first place

Ambiguous and arcane are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Ambiguous" instead an adjective "Arcane".

Ambiguous adjective - Having an often intentionally veiled or uncertain meaning.
Usage example: the exact reason for the change in plans is ambiguous, but I suspect it has something to do with money
