Assertion noun - A solemn and often public declaration of the truth or existence of something.

Say-so and assertion are semantically related. In some cases you can replace phrase "Say-so" with "Assertion", this terms are similar.

Say-so noun - One chap's arbitrary assertion.

Assertion and say-so are semantically related. Sometimes you can use "Assertion" instead a noun phrase "Say-so".
