Attack noun - The act or action of setting upon with force or violence.

Put-down and attack are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Put-down" instead a noun "Attack".

Put-down noun - An act or expression showing scorn and usually intended to hurt another's feelings.
Usage example: new hires always have to deal with put-downs and practical jokes from the older employees
