- As authentic South Texas barbecue includes things like the head (and, by extension, lengua, or tongue) and offal, it has not caught on outside of its native area (the fast casual chain Chipotle offers barbacoa as a meat option, but it cannot be called authentic).

Hearing actors speaking one's native language also allows the audience to catch subtle non-verbal parts of a performance, which many times is part of the "authentic" viewing experience the original was shooting for.
