Blockade
Blockade verb - To disallow entry into (a place) by means of a physical barrier at the entry point.
Usage example: the militant protestors blockaded the whole area around city hall
Close and blockade are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Close" instead the word "Blockade" as a verb or a noun.
