Clean up verb - To make a place neat and orderly by removing extraneous stuff.
Elide
Elide verb - To show (something written) to be no longer valid by drawing a cross over or a line through it.
Usage example: some unnecessary verbiage will need to be elided, but otherwise the article is publishable
