Close to adverb - (of quantities) imprecise but fairly close to correct.
In the sky and close to are semantically related. In some cases you can use "In the sky" instead an adverb phrase "Close to".

- Bright stars are not only outnumbered by smaller, dimmer stars by a long shot (our own sun isn't particularly bright itself, being in the upper-middle range), and just because a star is bright to us in the sky doesn't mean it's close to us, either.
