Commend verb - To put (something) into the possession or safekeeping of another.

Dispraise is an antonym for commend.

Dispraise verb - To express one's unfavorable opinion of the worth or quality of.
Usage example: the movie is an old-fashioned romance, and in calling it that, I don't mean to dispraise it at all
