Critical adjective - Given to making or expressing unfavorable judgments about things.

Denigrative and critical are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Denigrative" instead an adjective "Critical".

Denigrative adjective - Intended to make a person or thing seem of little importance or value.
Usage example: thanked her for the gift and then added the denigrative aside, “Not that it's anything special!”
