Decoct verb - Extract the essence of something by boiling it.

Recapitulate and decoct are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Recapitulate" instead a verb "Decoct".

Recapitulate

Recapitulate verb - To make into a short statement of the main points (as of a report).
Usage example: the professor told the students that their papers should not recapitulate the whole plot but should rather discuss in detail one particular incident they thought was interesting
