Divest
Divest verb - To set (a person or thing) free of something that encumbers.
Usage example: the former CEO has divested himself of most of his responsibilities but will continue to work with the company as a consultant
Unbind and divest are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Unbind" instead a verb "Divest".
