Gird
Gird noun - An act or expression showing scorn and usually intended to hurt another's feelings.
Usage example: in her farewell speech, the departing governor got in some retaliatory girds at the media
Outrage and gird are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Outrage" instead the word "Gird" as a verb or a noun.
