Habitual adjective - Being such by habit and not likely to change.

Prescriptive and habitual are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Prescriptive" instead an adjective "Habitual".

Prescriptive adjective - Based on customs usually handed down from a previous generation.
Usage example: even in this age of e-mail the prescriptive response to a wedding gift is a handwritten thank-you note
