- Back in the 1990s, before the iMac came out, Apple released a line of low-end Macs only begrudgingly (Apple's stance, then as now, was that desktop Macs were meant to be high-end workstations), and so their quality was hit-or-miss.

It should be noted, however, that an image shot on high-quality film with a high-end camera can still be blown up to an almost ridiculous extent compared to a digital photograph (given that the subject of the photograph is perfectly in focus).
