Horse-trade verb - To talk over or dispute the terms of a purchase.
Usage example: I horse-traded with the painter: I did his tax returns, and he did my kitchen

Negotiate and horse-trade are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Negotiate" instead a verb phrase "Horse-trade".
