Sounds and intonations are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Sounds" instead a noun "Intonations".

It's always noticeable, unfortunately, because whoever spoke the lines gave the wrong intonations for many of the words, so a sentence sounds like it's over when it's not, and words at the end of the sentence sometimes sound like they indicate the sentence isn't finished yet.
