Kooky adjective - Different from the ordinary in a way that causes curiosity or suspicion.
Usage example: I'm not sure that someone with such kooky ideas on biology should be teaching the subject to high schoolers

Standard adjective - Being of the type that is encountered in the normal course of events.
Usage example: a standard bandage is all that that wound needs

In the episode "A Tale of Tails," the moral appears to be the standard "it's okay to be different" moral, right up until the end, in which the title character uses his "kooky" tail to prove himself better at all the games the other kids play, at which point they all change their minds and love him.
