- Here are examples, with the link referring to a fossil that proves it false: fish and amphibians, amphibians and reptiles, reptiles and birds, reptiles and mammals (note that mammals did not descend from actual reptiles, but basal synapsids), and land mammals and whales.
- Sea mammals will be dolphins, orcas, whales, seals, sea lions, sea otters and manatees.
