- Faerie Wars by James Herbert Brennan is odd in that it uses two spellings ("fairy" and "faerie") depending on who is saying the term, most probably to distinguish between the "real" thing and the more mainstream usage.

However, the event most probably happened centuries before Homer started writing The Iliad, and Homeric Troy was very obviously written by a Greek person who certainly wanted a romanticization (it's a poem); for starters, real Trojans spoke Luwian (an extinct Indo-European language), not Greek.
