Names noun - Verbal abuse; a crude substitute for argument.

Refer is a synonym for names. In some cases you can use "Refer" instead a verb "Names".

Refer verb - To have a relation or connection.

Names is a synonym for refer. Sometimes you can replace term "Names" with "Refer", this verbs are similar.

Both words in one sentence

  • Lost has Locke, whom only Ben and Jack call John (in Jack's case, as a sign of disrespect.) The Others routinely refer to the Losties by their last names, but use first names internally.
  • The Qun (not so much a race as a "religion" / philosophical movement) is also built on this, to the point where its adherents give up personal names and refer to each other by their role in society.
  • Comic-Book Movies Don't Use Codenames In the comics they refer to each other by name when they're being civilians or aren't in public but the cartoon never has them refer to each other by names.
