Newcomer noun - A person who is just starting out in a field of activity.
Usage example: he's a newcomer to ice hockey

Old-timer is an antonym for newcomer.

Old-timer noun - A person with long experience in a specified area.
Usage example: old-timers in the fishing industry couldn't remember a time when catches were so low

Newcomer is an antonym for old-timer.
