Offend
Offend verb - To cause hurt feelings or deep resentment in.
Usage example: the visitor unintentionally offended his hosts terribly by failing to compliment them on the elaborately prepared meal
Ridicule and offend are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Ridicule" instead a verb "Offend".
