Out-of-the-way adjective - Different from the ordinary in a way that causes curiosity or suspicion.

Preternatural and out-of-the-way are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Preternatural" instead an adjective phrase "Out-of-the-way".

Preternatural adjective - Being so extraordinary or abnormal as to suggest powers which violate the laws of nature.
Usage example: a preternatural ability to predict how the stock market will perform
