In Tetris games that utilize the Super Rotation System, mashing a rotation button while pushing the current piece (assuming it's not the 2x2 "O" piece) in the direction of a sufficiently step-ridden stack of blocks will allow your block to climb up the stack.

Many a run of Tetris has ended because the game denied a piece crucial to recovering out of an otherwise-unmanagable stack, something that could've been avoided with a different roll of the RNG.
