Preliminary and Qualifying adjective

Preliminary adjective - Coming before the main part or item usually to introduce or prepare for what follows.

Qualifying adjective and preliminary are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Qualifying adjective" instead an adjective "Preliminary".

Qualifying adjective noun - An adjective that ascribes to its noun the value of an attribute of that noun (e.g., `a nervous person' or `a musical speaking voice').
