Proem noun - A short section (as of a book) that leads to or explains the main part.
Usage example: the proem promises what the book does not deliver: a totally new interpretation of the French Revolution

Prolusion and proem are semantically related. In some cases you can use "Prolusion" instead a noun "Proem".
