Repel verb - To refuse to give in to.
Usage example: repelled the temptation to stay out late and call in sick the next day
Yield
Yield verb - To give up and cease resistance (as to a liking, temptation, or habit).
Usage example: I finally yielded to temptation and had a bowl of ice cream
